Week 12 Sleeper
Crystal Palace v. Tottenham
Sunday, December 13, 9:15a.m. ET
Selhurst Park, London
Yes, Spurs are top of the table and essentially the best team in the league at the moment, so why would they be part of a sleeper match? Crystal Palace is the answer. They’ve won 2 of their last 4, and both of those wins came by multiple goals — a 5-1 shellacking of West Brom last week as well as a 4-1 victory over Leeds just 2 weeks prior to that. When Palace is on point, they can be lethal. However, Spurs are the best of the best at the moment. With only 1 loss through 11 games, it’s no surprise they’re sitting at the top of the table. They’ll be without Erik Lamela yet again and Serge Aurier is doubtful. Other than that, they’re essentially at full strength as they head on the road to Selhurst Park. Spurs haven’t lost against Palace in their last 10 league meetings, and on paper this one doesn’t look too different. But while Palace are able to turn out such huge victories like their 2 most recent ones, they could shock the league leaders and take a result, making this game all the more intense.
